What school did you attend? 

Iowa State University (undergrad), University of Rochester (Ph.D.)

What gained you interest in the NIH? 

The research and training environments at the NIH are second to none in this country. It's also one of the few places where one can find M.D.s and Ph.D.s actively contributing to the administration of the organization at all levels.

What kind of work do you do at the NIH? 

I work with trainees from high school students to postdoctoral fellows on their career development and other needs.

What message would you like to send to young Hispanics who are considering going to college? 

Education is one of the most important things in a person's life. Without it, you can't achieve your full potential.
