What gained your interest in the NIH?
I was interested in working at the NIH because of the quality and innovation in research and the opportunity to work along scientists from many disciplines. In addition, the career development programs at NIH are excellent resources.
What kind of work do you do at the NIH?
My research focuses in trying to understand how Norovirus, a gastrointestinal viral pathogen, causes diseases in humans with the ultimate goal of developing novel antiviral therapies. I am interested in infectious diseases, especially in the understanding of how host and pathogenic responses are interconnected during infections.
