Seoul, Korea

What school did you attend? 

Seoul National University, School of Pharmacy for B.S. and M.S. University of Houston, Chemistry for Ph.D.

What gained you interest in the NIH? 

NIH is a world premier institution of biomedical research. Its intramural program allows a tenured investigators to engage in high quality, long-term and challenging research, and thus providing an opportunity to significantly contribute to the improvement of human health.

What kind of work do you do at the NIH? 

As a Senior Investigator, I am searching for novel molecular mechanisms for the development and protection of the brain.

What message would you like to send to young Asians who are considering going to college? 

Scientific Research is one of the most productive professions in terms of generating new knowledge that will be shared and propagated collaboratively by individual scientists. It is the discovery of unknown that will lead to new ideas and products.
