Where were you born? 

Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China

What school did you attend? 

The former Shanghai Medical University (now Fudan University) Bachelor of Medicine, major in Preventive Medicine.

What gained you interest in the NIH? 

NIH is the Mecca of biomedical research. I was attracted to the immense research opportunities at NIH, such as working with world renowned scientists and excellent infrastructure and resources for research.

What kind of work do you do at the NIH? 

I'm currently a health science administrator/program officer. It is a hybrid between a scientist and an administrator that requires both scientific knowledge and administrative skills. Before my current job, I was a postdoctoral fellow studying protein oxidative modifications and their impact on aging and age-related diseases.

What message would you like to send to young Asians who are considering going to college? 

Believe in yourself!
