Where were you born? 

Raleigh, NC

What school did you attend? 

University of the District of Columbia and Work Opportunity Center in Washington D.C.

What gained you interest in the NIH? 

I was referred to the NIH by the Work Opportunity Center and have loved working at the NIH since 1958. I have worked for Office of Research Services (ORS) Office of the Director during my career at the NIH. When I first came to the NIH there were few buildings. I have seen the NIH grow so much over the years. I remember I could drive to work and park my car under a tree and have my lunch.

What kind of work do you do at the NIH? 

I am a clerk and responsible for delivering the mail to various offices within ORS.

What message would you like to send to young Blacks who are considering going to college? 

Have faith and give it all you got.
