New York

What school did you attend? 

Queens College of the City University of New York

What gained you interest in the NIH? 

I knew I wanted to come to NIH because working at NIH would mean I could have the greatest possible impact on the health and thinking abilities of people around the world.

What kind of work do you do at the NIH? 

I’m a cognitive neuroscientist, I study how the brain enables learning, thinking, attending, remembering, and reasoning and how it effects our health.

What message would you like to send to young Hispanics who are considering going to college? 

A college degree brings a better job, higher pay, and a better quality of life. Because of the gift of a college education, I was able to go on to get a Ph.D. and do the work I love. Education has been the key that opened doors to everything good in my life!
