What school did you attend? 

Frederick Military Academy - 1980 - 1982, Potomac Job Corps Center - 1982 - 1984, Montgomery College Takoma campus - 1991 - 1992

What gained you interest in the NIH? 

I was hired has as a janitor in June 1989. I enrolled in the NIH Management Internship Program in 1991, and upon completion was hired as the Laundry Manager for the Clinical Center. Then in 2004, I became the Deputy Section Chief, for Shipping and Receiving Department that sits under the Materials Management and Environmental Services Department (MMESD) Umbrella.

What kind of work do you do at the NIH? 

I oversee 18 personnel that are responsible for purchasing, storing, and distributing, medical supplies and laundry materials for the clinical center.

What message would you like to send to young Blacks who are considering going to college? 

Education is not going anywhere, and please do not complain about getting your fair share in this life, if you are not going to do your part to secure what is owed to you.
