Where were you born?

Washington DC

What school did you attend?

Hampton University, U.D.C., Montgomery College

How can you help improve the composition of the STEM education pipeline for Native American students?

In recent years I have provided financial contributions to the Navajo Relief Fund and the Partnership With Native Americans (PWNA). I have a desire to offer whatever assistance I can to Native Americans (NA). For several years, I have had a desire to learn about my NA roots. Reading "Black Indians", by William Loren Katz, opened my eyes, answered some questions, and created newer ones.

What is your most important accomplishment to date?

Supporting my son, striving to grow and learn each and everyday, and to be a positive influence with my family, friends, and all those who path I cross.

How did you choose your career?

I am currently working in the IT field as a Computer Operator. I applied for a Federal government position and was fortunate to be chosen to work in the IT field.

What types of community programs do you feel need to be more visible in Indian Country?

I believe programs that encourage self-esteem and a belief in one's self is essential for everyone, particularly young children/adults. Increased educational programs and scholarships, improved access and availability to quality healthcare. Providing programs that educate NA's on how to successfully set up their own business (LLC's, Corporations, etc.)
