Where were you born? 

Newark, NJ

What school did you attend? 

Tuskegee University School of Nursing, Bowie State University Master of Science in Nursing

What gained you interest in the NIH? 

My primary interest in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps lead me to learn more about and become interested in the NIH during my sophomore year of nursing school.

What kind of work do you do at the NIH? 

I am currently the Senior Nurse Manager for a 32 bed general medical-surgical inpatient unit and a 10 bed metabolic unit along with a 3 chamber metabolic suite dedicated solely to obesity research.

What message would you like to send to young Blacks who are considering going to college? 

Life is about choices, therefore choose to make the right choices in life; strive to achieve your very best and be all that God has created you to be. Know that hard work while achieving your education truly pays off in the end; for an excellent life begins with an excellent education.
