On March 13, 2020 Dr. Collins announced telework-eligible staff of the National Institute of Health (NIH) would be permitted, in alignment with OMB guidance, to work from home to promote social distancing to help flatten the curve of the coronavirus (COVID-19) spread. NIH doctors and scientists have kept the protection of NIH staff and patients a top priority by continuing to work vigorously on vaccines and treatments.
In response, the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), located on the NIH Bethesda Campus in Building 2 on the 3rd floor- will remain open. EDI will have one staff member available Monday through Friday to provide; in-person customer assistance and to process document deliveries related to EEO complaints and reasonable accommodations, including but not limited to: Reports of Investigation (ROIs) and legal correspondence through UPS, the Postal Service, or FedEx.
EDI is committed to serving NIH employees remotely and in person during this period of social distancing to ensure the consistent support and awareness of workplace rights and responsibilities, non-discrimination laws and access to reasonable accommodations.
Please continue to visit this page and follow our social media accounts on Twitter and LinkedIn for timely EEO related guidance, and information.
