What gained you interest in the NIH?
I worked at Walter Reed (both in DC and in Bethesda, MD). I reached the top of the ladder for Administrative Support when a position opened up at National Institutes of Health; which included a promotion.
What kind of work do you do at the NIH?
I’m a Program Support Assistant (soon to be Medical Support Assistant-Administrative). I work at the front desk for the Outpatient Dental Clinic, at the NIH Clinical Center.
What message would you like to send to young Hispanics who are considering going to college?
Knowledge is POWER! If you can’t afford to go to college, try my route: I served 20 years in the military, and they paid for most of it!
