EEO Investigator

Alethea Chatman joined EDI as an EEO Investigator in March 2024. She has over 11 years of experience in the EEO field and almost 20 years of investigative experience. Alethea has performed investigative duties as a civilian (both private and federal) and in the military. She began her investigative career in the private sector conducting fraud investigations. While serving as a Special Agent in the U.S. Air Force, she conducted fraud and criminal investigations. Alethea has a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice, a master’s degree in security management, and a master’s degree in counseling/life coaching.

Outside of her professional life, Alethea enjoys serving her veteran community by volunteering her time to serve those who have served this country. She is a Peer Support Group leader for the Wounded Warrior Project, which is an organization that honors and empowers disabled veterans who served during the post-911 era. She is the Post Service Officer for the American Legion Post 170 where she assists veterans of all eras with filing disability claims with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and informs them of resources available through the VA.

Lastly, in her spare time, she reads motivating and uplifting literature. She golfs and belongs to multiple golf leagues. She recently joined a bowling league and loves all sports with football being her favorite. Alethea also loves to travel. She is honored to be a part of the NIH family and looks forward to bringing her knowledge and skills to the organization. She is inspired by living life today because tomorrow is promised to no one.
