Joanna joins EDI from the National Library of Medicine (NLM) where she was a Technical Information Specialist supporting the library’s medical terminology products and discovering new ways to utilize data analytics to improve operations. She also served as a member of NLM’s Racial and Ethnic and Equity Plan (REEP) design and implementation committees.

Joanna received a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts (AB) degree in Sociology from Smith College. Through her graduate work, she found a passion for investigating and combatting the ways in which data can perpetuate health inequities.

Prior to joining NIH through the Pathways program in July 2020, she worked at an industry trade association as a component relations manager.

Her hobbies include swimming, knitting, drawing, and trying to improve her cooking skills.
