Davian M. Morrell currently serves as the Equal Employment Specialist in the Office of the Director (OD), Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). In this role he will provide advice, guidance, feedback, and support to NIH’s policy functions on areas related to Reasonable Accommodation (RA) and other matters and responsibilities related to RA.

Before joining NIH, Davian worked in the field of vocational rehabilitation counseling for thirteen years where he assisted persons with disabilities overcome barriers to employment and to live independently in their communities. He has worked for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Benefits Administration in Washington, D.C.; State of Virginia’s Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services; State of Georgia’s Vocational Rehabilitation Agency; and as a Special Needs Counselor/Academic Advisor at Delgado Community College in New Orleans, La. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and Master of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and Disability Studies from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, La. He is also a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC).

When he is not working, Davian enjoys traveling the world, visiting home (New Orleans), script reading for tv, concerts, finding new restaurants, all things Star Trek, and spending time with his partner.
