From the EDI Director: NIH 2017 Native American Heritage Month Message

Debra C. Chew Esq.

November is National Native American Heritage Month (NNAHM), together we recognize and honor the many contributions that members of this community have made to our nation. This year’s theme is "Native Pride and Spirit."

The Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) takes pride in the work we do each day because our goal is to make a meaningful difference. We work to ensure that the civil rights of all NIH employees are protected. This month is a time to demonstrate the NIH’s commitment to diversity and Equal Employment Opportunities. EDI is honored to highlight notable Native Americans on our social media pages. I encourage you to get involved in your local community this month. By getting to know the community, the NIH workforce can find ways to better reflect the customers we serve.
